Description
Ajilon is seeking a RTH (3 mo.) or FT SQL Server DBA for their growing IT division. Work will be on site at a 8th & market Street location in Philadelphia, accessible via public transportation, trains, etc.
Candidates will plan, design, implement and manage the database environment for client server, data warehouse and local area network applications to ensure that quality and timely service levels for both internal and external clients are maintained.
Main duties will hold candidates responsible to analyze, plan, design and implement new database structures in an efficient and timely manner to support the business needs of the company while maintaining the standards of a well-structured and normalized relational database model. Analyze and improve existing databases to achieve optimal performance, relational design, database normalization, data integrity, and structured database environment flexible for any future functional additions and database growth. Assist business units in designing technical specification documents for outsourced database projects by providing a mock-up of a relational database model in sync with the business needs to a vendor. Review database structures developed by outsourced development teams. Work on troubleshooting and correcting database issues in an efficient and timely manner ensuring uninterrupted continuation of a business flow. Implement and perform regular SQL server database performance tuning tasks including but not limited to index rebuilding, log truncation, DTS tuning, backup and recovery. Investigate, plan, and apply necessary SQL server database and SAS warehouse patches and fixes. Document all database architecture and relevant procedures according to established standards. Monitor resource utilization to ensure client response time meets expected service levels and to help ensure uninterrupted system availability. Develop new and utilize existing database performance and status reporting tools. Assist the Network Services and the disaster recovery team in the planning, documentation, coordination and execution of all disaster recovery testing. Assist in the training of various staff to ensure they possess the required skills to help support the Health Partners Database environment. QA all SQL coding and data base design before applications are implemented into the production environment. Interface with various Information Services staff and outside vendors for program product evaluation and customer support as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
