| This mission of the Spirit Team is to provide emotional and spiritual support for people who have been affected by a personal or community trauma or disaster. The goal is to provide appropriate and sensitive care to the affected individuals, families and co-workers by respecting a person s culture, religious traditions and faith community. - Willingness to support Red Cross Mission. - Competency in understanding basic strategies related to crisis intervention. - Understanding of and ability to perform initial grief and bereavement work. - Ability to work as a team member within a command structure. - Spiritual maturity and sensitivity to work in multi-faith and multicultural settings. - Ability to maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries. Skils: - Must be ordained, licensed or commissioned by a religious authority to function in a specialized ministry of care. A copy affirming the above is to be submitted. - Theological education or training consistent with a faith tradition. - A minimum of three years experience in spiritual care after theological education or training.
