The Senior Unix administrator will be responsible for the following;

* Evaluates, designs, documents, installs, tests, implements, monitors, and maintains complex
UNIX hardware, software, and infrastructure solutions. Plans and coordinates application UNIX
software, system software, and hardware initiatives.

* Assists in the planning of the system architecture for the UNIX platform. Provides internal
consulting, technical guidance, and information to applications groups.

* Develops, installs, and manages SAN (Storage Area Network) for Storage and Tape backup
solutions for the UNIX and Wintel platforms.

* Installs midrange hardware and software, maintains appropriate maintenance levels and
tuning.

* Evaluates, recommends, installs and configures tools for event monitoring, capacity planning,
performance monitoring, etc of UNIX systems

* Works with technical vendors to resolve issues in a timely fashion

* Level 3 troubleshooting and resolution of system problems.

Required Skills:

* Senior knowledge of UNIX operating system and hardware (currently SUN Solaris).

* 2+ years hands-on experience with SAN (Storage Area Network) management and advanced
disk management skills

* 2+ years hands on experience with automated tape management solutions and tape silos

* Advanced UNIX scripting skills

* Backup Legato Software configuration and administration experience.

* Strong project management skills with ability to lead technical plans from start to finish

* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work within organizational
change management and project management guidelines

* In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, networking concepts

* strong emphasis on networking skills

* experience with content switches or other load balancing technology is a plus

* Linux experience is a plus.
