| The Red Cross House provides housing for families who have been made homeless by disasters. This position provides casework management, financial assistance, information and referral, counseling and outreach services to Emergency Services Program disaster clients. RESPONSIBILITIES · Interview, counsel, refer and evaluate the needs of clients as assigned and coordinate the casework function with the Client Services staff. · Perform all administrative functions as they relate to assigned casework activities, i.e. case records, financial assistance records, referrals, communications, etc. · Develop a thorough understanding of national and local Emergency Services policies and be able to interpret and communicate them to Red Cross clients, and, as required, to the general public. · Coordinate and conduct disaster home visits as scheduled and interface with Disaster Action Teams to ensure proper administration of services and case paperwork. · As scheduled, participate in the staffing of disaster response. This includes the establishment of casework service centers, coordinating provision of family and mental health support services to disaster clients. · Assist in ensuring proactive program by maintaining and/or establishing key partnerships within a network of vendors, government and community agencies.
