| The Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania provides relief to victims of disaster and helps prevent, prepare for, and respond to local emergencies. The Public Relations Intern will have a unique opportunity to learn about non-profit public affairs through hands-on activities and exposure to a wide range of departmental activities and projects. The Intern will create Press Kits, review and draft press releases, take photos and organize photo archives, and assist with design of chapter publicity materials. The Intern will accompany staff to disasters and specials events, publicize special events and assist with tracking media mentions. Required skills include: MS Word, basic Adobe PageMaker and Photoshop, Internet navigation and resources as well as desktop publishing. The Intern must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with diverse populations. Flexible hours are required. This internship is designed for a student working towards a BA in public relations, marketing or communications. This internship begins September 2008 and runs through December 2008.
