The Center for Literacy is a non-profit agency dedicated to providing free literacy instruction and a wide range of other adult literacy services that respond to the diversity of individuals and enable adult learners to meet their goals. The Center for Literacy is seeking to fill its PT ESL Teacher Position.
- Teacher must plan and prepare materials and lessons based on learner needs and best practices of ESL instruction in language and American culture and history
- Assess learners with standardized and informal tools
- Provide class data in a timely manner
- Participate in ESL team activities
- Assist learners with activities related to their individual and collective language and personal goals;
- Perform other duties as required.
- Lesson planning; administering assessments
- Performing all related administrative duties and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong written, communication and organizational skills
- Computer literate
- Experience with second language learners preferred
Schedule: North Philadelphia MW 1-3:30, Southwest Philadelphia T/TH10-12:30, West Philadelphia T/TH 6-8:30pm.
