OUR CLIENT: Our client, a leader in the audio visual industry for corporate meetings, user conferences, special events, and tradeshows is seeking a General Manager for their new jersey facility.  Our client has been in business for nearly three decades and has regional offices throughout the US.  Their wide range product offerings include computer rentals, projection, large screen displays, LED technology and interactive media. They offer full staging and production, including full permanent system design, audio, video, lighting, and set design.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The General Manager will be responsible for maintaining a cohesive work atmosphere while ensuring projects meet profitability, quality, safety and customer satisfaction objectives. This position is third in command and will have 120+ employees reporting to them directly and/or indirectly.  Sales, technical operations, integration, market analysis, staging and budgeting are key tasks assigned to the General Manager position. The successful candidate will have the 'bottom line' responsibility for the operation. Applicants will need to demonstrate leadership, management, P&L understanding and successful operation of a similar size organization in the event technology, AV rentals, event or trade show industry. This position reports to the CEO.
 
Requirements/Responsibilities:

5+ years of management experience.
Strong organizational skills.
Understanding of the local market and business climate.
In-depth knowledge of event technology industry, preferably within meetings and events.
Proven Success in sourcing, hiring, developing sales talent and market strategies.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Exchange, Excel, Word, Adobe and Outlook.
BA/BS degree.
Strong financial acumen.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
Ability to travel 25%.
